  • Toys in the UK
  • This year, especially at Christmas, the online shops in the UK will be stocking Pogo sticks, Drilling Bob and Harry Potter Lego for christmas presents for children. Miracle Baby and Who wants to be a Millionaire boardgame is a great gift idea and worth a look. WWF Real Sounds Arena and Candy Floss machine plus Harry Potter Figures will be popular christmas or birthday presents for Children. Thunderbirds electronic playset and Nutcracker Barbie will be popular, and Thunderbirds electronic playset and Harry Potter Figures will go like hot cakes. WWF Real Sounds Arena and Candy Floss machine, Miracle Baby and Who wants to be a Millionaire boardgame are what I will be buying my children this Christmas. Toy shopping online in the UK is a powerful way to discover what our kids want and what toys are popular. With demand near Christmas increasing, many shops run out of supply, so the internet is the best source. It also has the added advantage of providing huge choice and best prices. Toys are generally cheaper online, with cheap offers available due to the lower overheads of toy shops online.

Last year, the some of the most popular toys were Barbie and all the Barbie accessories. If this is what your children want, then you would be well advised to buy early! Other popular toys were action man, Baby Annabell doll, Barney, Fimbles, Flexi Trax and Happy Land. Educational toys, such as puzzles and jigsaws are constantly popular, often given by grandparents, rather than parents who are subjected to more fashionable demand!

Hornby train sets and other makes of train sets are an all time favourite, with wooden train sets coming back into fashion. Little Tikes trucks was a surprising winner, with perhaps aggressive advertising. There is much pressure on parents as a result of TV advertising of toys, especially during children's TV programmes in the UK. Many USA ads focusing on toys from America are advertised in the UK, and these can often be bought at much lower prices by ordering the toys from the States. Obviously you need to plan ahead, but these are the very toys that become the most demanded, run out and near Christmas are impossible to find. Early planning will secure a cheap price and availability.

Old favourite toys are from Brio, Fisher Price, Scaletrix, Zapf dolls, Matchbox cars and Hot Wheels. Visit the stores for suitability then buy online! Cheap toys are found online rather than in the shops, which could take you hours to walk around, and if you factor in your time, parking, petrol etc., they become not cheap! Outdoor play toys are often forgotten at Christmas, but these outdoor toys are good value and cheap at Christmas. Many UK shops won't stock these outdoor toys at Christmas, so online is the cheapest and best option. Examples of outdoor toys are Skateboards & Roller Skates, bicycles and sandpits, slides and swings plus Kites or flying model aircraft. Climbing frames, swings, slides, trampolines, sand boxes and more can be found online at Christmas.

Educational and developmental toys for babies and young children are fashionable this year. Toy shops are stocking up on Baby Annabell doll, Barney, Fimbles, Flexi Trax, Happy Land, Jolly Phonics and Leap Frog. Also look for Rocking Horse, Mega Bloks, My Little Farm, My Little Home and Noddy who is making a come back!

Harry Potter Lego I predict will be the most popular present this Christmas, along with Candy Floss machine. Harry Potter is consistently the number 1 toy in overall popularity for boys and girls, as birthday presents or Christmas presents. Pogo sticks will be huge!.

Popular toys are currently Sindy, Bratz, Tweenies, Disney, Bob The Builder, Duplo and Butt Ugly Martians with cheap offers currently online. Try surfing for Children's toys in the UK for finding Action Man, Barbie toys, Beyblade, Bratz, Lego, Thomas The Tank Engine and Wooden Toys UK. They have categories for toy shops online for Children's Books, Children's Clothes, Children's Furniture and Children's Shoes as well as kid's toys.

Dolls Houses, Hornby,  Kids Bikes, Radio Controlled Toys,  Scalextric and Train Sets plus Wooden Toys could be the flavour of the year this Christmas, we will have to wait and see. Action Man, Candy Floss machine, Beyblade and Dragonball Z are potentailly popular with Gameboy Advance, Lego, a variety of PC Games and for outdoor any Remote Control Toys will be in demand. Simpsons, Teddy Bears, Transformers and Wooden Toys will always be popular, especially at Christmas.

Trading Cards have been around for sometime, but may be back in fashion. Topics like cars and sports, film characters and pop stars are all covered. A great stocking filler. Babylon 5, Harry Potter, Football Champions, Battletech, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dark Eden and Deadlands Doomtown are in fashion, along with Legend of the Five Rings and Dredd. Harry Potter is probably the best for the UK. Hercules and Legend of the Five Rings are great Trading cards. Xena Warrior Princess and X-Men or Young Jedi are always good collector items.

My own children are asking for Dolls, Dragonball Z and Gameboy Advance games for the PC. They have always liked Lego, but are slowly growing out of this, and prefering PC Games, Power Rangers and Remote Control Cars. Last year they enjoyed Dredd, Duel Masters, E-Mon, Football Champions, Galactic Empires and Harry Potter, in fact, anything to do with Harry Potter was a great success.

This year I will be looking to buy toys online in the UK for Comics, Construction Toys, Development and Learning Toys, Miracle Baby, Dolls and Accessories, Dressing-Up and Make-Believe for my daughter and for my boy, Electronic Toys, Go-peds, Harry Potter Figures, Interactive Toys & Robots and all sorts of Models.

Many parents are looking at Baby & Pre-School Toys and for a baby, Bath Toys baby Bikes, Trikes and Ride-Ons and Comics for learning. Models and PC Games will always be a safe choice, but consider Power Rangers, Remote Control Cars or any Remote Control Toys and the Simpsons.
